Introducing Senior Employees at Tokiwa Dengyo

  • Masato Shioi

    Metropolitan Area Sales Dept.

    Masato Shioi

What do you find rewarding about working in traffic light construction?
We tend to take traffic lights for granted but they are indispensable for everyone. I find it very rewarding to be able to take responsibility and pride in work that involves construction aimed at preventing traffic accidents and relieving traffic congestion, while giving top priority to everyone's safety.
What difficulties do you face in your work?
This work is not something you can do alone, but you are always surrounded by your workmates. When faced with a problem, you can share it, help each other, and work together to complete each task. I have not really struggled with anything in particular. We place top priority on safety, and our goals in daily work are accuracy, fast response, and using time effectively.
Your message to those interested in this job:
At the construction site, you will always be working in the presence of vehicles and pedestrians. There is some tension but it helps you grow as a person because you never forget to pay attention to your surroundings.
  • Yuta Yamanaka

    Aomori Sales Office

    Yuta Yamanaka

    Details of work
We install new traffic signals at intersections and perform maintenance such as replacement of old signals and maintenance of signals. We build poles for the signals, wires and pipes, install signal devices, and manage construction (safety, process, quality).
What do you focus on in your work?
Safety first by thoroughly checking the surroundings to prevent accidents and injuries.
What difficulties did you face when you first joined the company?
I tended to focus on quickly learning the flow of work and tips for doing my work, but ended up making mistakes, and so was shouted at for the first three years. I realized that choosing the easy path in anything I did made things more difficult. So I decided to challenge what I was not used to doing or struggled with and now, though I am busy, I find my job fun and rewarding.
  • Yuki Tadenuma

    Saitama Sales Office

What difficulties did you face when you first joined the company?
I have gotten used to it now, but as we work outdoors, it gets very hot in the summer and cold in the winter.
What do you find rewarding about your work?
Even though I had only a few years of experience, I was put in charge of the site as deputy manager. It was a huge responsibility, but I was able to complete the project with the help of my seniors, and that was very rewarding.
Your message to those interested in this job:
You need to always pay attention to the vehicles and people passing by during work on roads, and it’s quite a tough job, but it is very rewarding since you get to contribute to traffic safety.
  • Manabu Takahashi

    Akita Sales Office

    Manabu Takahashi

What is the atmosphere of the sales office?
We say what we want to say to each other without hiding our thoughts when we have a problem or need advice. So it is an easy work environment where communication is good and we work well as a team.
What difficulties did you face when you first joined the company?
As I started out not knowing anything about electrical work, there was a lot to learn and remember at first, and that was hard. But there is a sense of accomplishment as you gain more experience, learn from your seniors, and learn to do things one by one.
What do you focus on while working?
Giving top priority to safety and preventing accidents and injuries not only to myself but to others as well. Traffic junctions where we carry out our construction work are places with many vehicles and pedestrians passing by. I try to predict various dangers and carry out the work carefully.
